Community Health Needs Assessment

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, a member of Common Spirit, had the opportunity to collaborate with Multicare Health System to lead a community health needs assessment (CHNA) for Pierce County, Washington.

According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CHNA refers to a state, tribal, local or territorial health assessment that identifies key health needs and issues through systematic, comprehensive data collection and analysis. The ultimate goal of this assessment is to develop strategies to address the community’s health needs and identified issues.
